Leading Fuel Cell & Electrolyser company looking to continue growing out their team, with a key hire to build out their Electrical Engineering capabilities. As a Senior Electrical Design Engineer, you’ll play a key role in the electrical and power electronic design for fuel cell and electrolysis systems. Interesting opportunity to work within our Systems Engineering group, focusing on electrical design, system modelling, power analysis, and supporting grid connectivity. Your expertise will directly contribute to the deployment of cutting-edge technology in clean energy. Key Responsibilities: Senior Electrical Design Engineer Support the design and development of fuel cell and electrolysis systems, contributing to system modelling, power analysis, and overall electrical network design for AC and DC distribution. Lead the design of high-level electrical schematics and wiring plans, ensuring top-quality design documentation for internal and external stakeholders. Manage and review design deliverables from contractors, providing technical guidance to ensure safety and regulatory compliance. Proactively assess project risks and ensure all electrical design complies with national and international standards (IEEE, ANSI, IEC, NFPA). Participate in the project lifecycle, from the initial design through installation and commissioning, providing technical support and troubleshooting as needed. What We’re Looking For: Senior Electrical Design Engineer Degree-qualified in Electrical Engineering or a related field. Experience with electrical systems design for power generation and distribution, ideally at the MW scale. Hands-on expertise with real-world electrical components, including grid connection and AC/DC distribution for power systems. Familiarity with power system modelling and analysis software (e.g., ETAP, EPLAN, MATLAB). Strong understanding of control system interfaces, grid connection regulations, and international standards. Exceptional organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills, with a collaborative mindset and a proactive, solutions-oriented approach.
