We are currently seeking an organised and proactive HR Support Officer - Onboarding to join our dynamic HR team. Role Overview As an HR Support Officer in Onboarding, you will play a vital role in supporting the recruitment process and ensuring a smooth and efficient onboarding experience for new employees. You will be the first point of contact for new starters and hiring managers, providing administrative support to the Recruitment Specialist, and collaborating with the Training Team. Key Responsibilities Recruitment Support : Assist the Recruitment Specialist with various aspects of the recruitment process, including job postings, interview coordination, pre-employment checks, and offer letters. Onboarding Coordination : Ensure all necessary documentation for new starters is completed accurately and promptly (e.g. Right to Work checks, DBS, references, pre employment health assessments). Induction and Training Support : Collaborate with the Training Team to schedule induction and training sessions for new employees, and manage equipment requirements (e.g. laptops, ID, and Smart cards). Compliance & Documentation : Conduct thorough checks to ensure legal compliance with employment laws, keeping accurate records of all new hire documentation and ensuring timely completion. Communication & Support : Act as the first point of contact for all onboarding queries from new starters and hiring managers, and assist with the management of helpdesk inquiries. Administrative Duties : Provide general HR administrative support, including filing, maintaining databases, conducting file audits, and producing HR-related reports. Essential Qualifications & Skills Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks and manage multiple responsibilities. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to engage professionally with new employees and colleagues at all levels. Good understanding of HR processes, especially in recruitment and onboarding. Knowledge of relevant HR legislation and best practices (e.g., Employment Rights Act, Data Protection, Health & Safety). Strong attention to detail and accuracy, particularly in document management and compliance checks. IT literate with experience using HR software, Microsoft Office, and other administrative tools. A proactive, can-do attitude with the ability to work independently and as part of a team. Desirable Attributes Experience in an HR or recruitment support role, ideally within a charity or public sector environment. A good understanding of the mental health sector or a passion for supporting mental health initiatives. Knowledge of occupational health procedures and DBS checks.
