About Our Client

Job Description
1. Oversee queries from HMRC and other tax authorities on all indirect tax related issues.
2. Oversee and review the indirect tax balance sheet to ensure they are reconciled on a timely basis.
3. Provide indirect tax feedback on new income and transfer pricing accounts.
4. Management of key stakeholders in Finance, legal, etc, the Business and external advisers.
5. Ensure any changes in legislation are incorporated into the business and relevant stakeholders advised.
6. Monitor and challenge manual postings to the indirect tax accounts.
7. Monitor and challenge the practical implementation of the group's partial exemption special method.
8. Provide strategic thinking and support to Global Tax colleagues, including the Tax Director and Global Head of Tax.
The Successful Applicant
1. Qualified ACCA/ACA/CTA/ATT or equivalent.
2. Previous experience of completing indirect tax returns and a basic understanding of HMRC compliance/indirect tax accounting.
3. Previous experience of working in a partially exempt business; experience of working in the financial services industry is desirable.
4. Excellent Excel skills and knowledge of finance systems (Oracle Cloud).
5. Able to investigate and amend reported financials to remove inaccuracies.
6. A drive to fully understand the detail and resolve issues in the correct way.
7. Ability to work autonomously and under pressure.
8. Encouraged to automate/change existing processes to increase efficiency and effectiveness.
9. A proven background in indirect tax with strong tax technical skills and a detailed understanding of tax accounting and reporting requirements.
10. Results-oriented, hardworking individual with strong interpersonal and issue resolution skills.
