The Regional General Manager will be responsible for operational delivery of a best-in-class service and strategic plan in line with company growth plans which will deliver competitive advantage. Managing across multi-sites/contracts working in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. Accountable for all safety and operational processes and management of day-to-day operations teams.

Duties and responsibilities
· Deploy operational and commercial objectives to deliver the business plan and growth
· Monitor and measure performance to maximise operational efficiency and profitability
· Effectively manage resources and skills to deliver tactical and strategic objectives
· Full accountability and KPI ownership of all critical numbers
· To manage and optimise of all key transport management KPIs relating to delivery, compliance, H&S, and cost management
· To manage all systems, processes, procedures, and training related to all sites under your control
· Driving improved consistency of transport operational practice and performance, enabling collaboration and cross functional best practice
· Seek to make continual improvements to core standards, processes, and practices
· Working closely with the Account Management team to drive a programme of enhanced ways of working, maximising efficiency whilst maintaining service and cost – including attendance to and production of customer MBR and QBR reporting packs
· To ensure service excellence through a culture of continuous improvement and an engaged team
· Developing, improving, and implementing operations plans to meet company goals
· Ensure the training and development requirements of your direct reports are captured and delivered against time defined plan including any mandatory training
· Working in partnership with cross functional team to deliver required service, initiatives, and growth to customers
· Manage the transport budget and ensure that all transport costs are maintained through the management of transport KPI’s
· Delivering best in class health & safety, wellbeing & sustainability standards
* Leading project work to support initiatives and growth
· Accountable for multiple sites/customer operational performance, employee engagement and wellbeing as part of the Group Transport matrix model
· Create clear objectives, regular reviews, development support, and succession plans
· Creating financial plans for increasing revenue margins and controlling costs
· Identify and implement transport improvement plans and optimisation projects
· Working closely with Finance functional teams to contribute to business financial forecasting and deliver targets across areas of responsibility
· To build and maintain robust relationships with your customers
Experience, skills and attributes
* Proven track record of delivering safe transport operations, underpinned by a behavioural based safety culture, with clear consideration for colleague wellbeing
* Demonstrable, relevant management experience of leading teams responsible for delivering high-quality results to customers
* Ability to provide effective customer insight, reporting, feedback and communication
* Strategic thinker with a deep appreciation of the fast-paced Transport industry, both open and closed book
* Consistent track record in delivering rounded business improvement and development
* Ability to use dashboards to drive performance measures and company growth
* Strong leadership, communication and interpersonal skills
* Transport background, with an excellent understanding of the challenges, risks, opportunities and legislation
· Excellent customer relationship management skills with a proactive approach to problem solving
· Proven track record of building high performing teams within a complex service delivery environment
· Strong commercial capabilities and contract knowledge and understanding
· Comprehensive operational knowledge gained within a large complex 3PL environment
· Excellent customer relationship management skills with a proactive approach to problem solving
· Proven experience in delivering results, creating opportunities for innovation and managing change
· Strong leadership and communication skills for training and motivating teams, creating the vision for the future of the company
