Traffic Light Operative, Yorkshire, Leeds

The Role:
As a Traffic Light Operative (TLO), your main role will be installing, repairing, and removing temporary traffic lights. This tends to be working on behalf of their hire customers, some of whom will be contracted for long-term works, while others will be working more reactively in response to things like emergency utilities works or road-traffic accidents. The nature of these emergency works means hours will vary, including weekend and night work.
Your main responsibilities include:
* Working on-site Traffic Management plans.
* Basic fault finding and resolution of company equipment.
* Signal maintenance and battery exchanges.
* Adhering to all company policies, procedures, and safe methods of working.
* Promoting a positive company image whilst at work, wearing company-branded PPE.
* Engaging in fast-paced and active roles; there certainly won’t be a dull day!
* Handling batteries in the traffic lights, which weigh 23kg each, so manual handling is involved.
* Investing in EHSQ to ensure safety throughout the team, as they are ROSPA Gold winners.

To succeed in this role, you will need to be:
* Super organized to help you keep on top of your workload.
* A fantastic communicator to keep your teammates and customers in the loop.
* Flexible and adaptable, keeping calm under pressure and multi-tasking as the day’s requirements evolve.
* Punctual and reliable; we need to know that you’ll turn up and get the job done for customers, as you are the face of the business.
* Energetic and enthusiastic! If you’re looking for a desk job, this is not for you!
Experience and qualifications:
* Full Current Manual Driving License is required as you will have a company van/truck, which will be taken home at night. A safe place to park is essential.
* A previous role in maintaining or operating temporary traffic systems.
* A previous electrical background would be beneficial.
You must have the right to work in the UK. A driving license background check will be completed on your initial call if selected.

Operatives can earn substantially more through overtime, on-call shifts, and three levels of training.
