IMPORTANT: PhysiCare do not have a sponsor licence, so if you have not worked in the UK as a Physiotherapist for at least 2 years and are not a British citizen, or a person with settled status in Britain, please don't apply.
We are seeking a Chartered Physiotherapist to join our excellent team in Central Scotland. Depending on the hours you choose (part time and full time available) and also your interests, your time can be split between face to face (F2F) MSK treatment and advice clinics within an occupational health setting, moving and handling (MH) training and coaching and MH risk assessments.
PhysiCare typical clinic and course venues are in Hamilton, Cambuslang, East Kilbride, Glasgow and Lanark. Our customers are local authorities, universities, health and social care organisations, schools and lots of other public and private sector organisations.
Our Physiotherapists join us from many different backgrounds. For our MSK clinics you must have a minimum of 3 years post-qualification experience (at least 2 years working within the UK), together with a portfolio that demonstrates extensive and excellent continued professional development in the fields of musculoskeletal / manual therapy.
PhysiCare's fast track, face-to-face occupational physiotherapy service aims/objectives:
* To assist our customers (employers) in maximising employee attendance at work by providing flexible, prompt and responsive physiotherapy services, which maintain and / or improve musculoskeletal health irrespective of injury / condition cause.
* To expedite return to work for musculoskeletal absence and prevent chronic conditions, thus preventing long-term or further repeated periods of absence.
* Enable our clients to make informed choices with regard to employees’ physical health status / work capability prior to them starting in post (pre-employment), returning to work following a period of absence or remaining at work whilst suffering with a musculoskeletal disorder.
* To offer value for money by avoiding protracted courses of treatment.
* Identify musculoskeletal injury trends in specific workplace problem areas (where present), to guide proactive musculoskeletal health interventions.
* Provide employees with information to enable them to help themselves / self-manage chronic (or non-curable) musculoskeletal health conditions.
* To represent our client’s image as a caring, people focused employer by providing excellent quality, evidence-based care aimed at improving employee health, function, morale, productivity and reducing sickness absence.
Work/life balance is very important to us, so it will be your choice on the hours and days you want to work. Full time and part time hours are available. We also offer working school term times only.
PhysiCare's way of working means our Physiotherapists don't have the typical admin headaches (we will manage your diary and bookings) and PhysiCare Physiotherapists don't need to get involved with a lot of the management/promotion side either. PhysiCare offers a great working environment, supported well with whatever you need to provide a good service to your patients and course attendees.
You will also be able to choose the locations you wish to work in (see above) and there’s an opportunity for further progression into Management.
Moving and handling training
If becoming a PhysiCare Instructor (MH Trainer) is of interest to you, then PhysiCare’s range of moving and handling courses are renowned and we are on the Scottish Manual Handling Passport (SMHPS) register. Since the only training PhysiCare specialise in is manual handling, we constantly add to, review and update our training materials and keep abreast of current manual handling legislation, guidance and best practice. PhysiCare were one of the first training organisations to implement the SMHPS and we have matched our entire course content to the relevant SMHPS modules.
You will be responsible for delivering PhysiCare’s manual handing training in accordance with the Scottish Manual Handling Passport Scheme to a variety of customers, including health & life science students, social care workers, local authority staff, and NHS workers. Training will be delivered either onsite at customer premises in Central Scotland, or at one of PhysiCare’s training venues in South Lanarkshire.
Where we differ from other training providers is that PhysiCare take care of everything for our Trainers – from the development of course materials, risk assessment of training facilities, site orientation, scheduling and booking. Our processes and systems are easy to follow and are designed to ensure you spend as little time as possible on admin and can focus on delivering excellent training.
Professional, approachable, flexible and diligent are the shared values, principles and behaviour that all staff at PhysiCare follow.
