EKC Group are seeking an Estates Assistant to join the Group. As an Estates Assistant at Sheppey College you will play an active key role in the Estates team, providing caretaking and estates services across the college. The position covers a wide range of services and our Estates team enable staff and students to work in a safe and clean environment that is compliant with regulations and runs optimally all year round. In the role you will be responsible for carrying out unlock and lock duties of buildings, setting of intruder alarms before and after operational opening hours including weekends and will be a responsible key holder. You will also be part of the on-call team. Previous experience of conducting health and safety checks and updating planned preventative maintenance records would be an advantage. We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, reliable and conscientious member to our team. The successful candidate will be able to work on your own or as part of a team, flexible in your approach to tasks and shift patterns and have effective organisation skills and ability to work under pressure. The ideal candidate will have a good knowledge of testing, maintaining and keeping records of services withing the building, also experience of carrying out preventative maintenance and grounds maintenance. A working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite would be useful as the majority of records are kept and updated using these programmes. In addition, you may have a background in a skilled trade and will be able to contribute this knowledge and experience to compliment the wider estates team at Sheppey College. A qualification in First Aid would be useful, although we are willing to develop the successful candidate so that they can become a first aider. If you have experience of working in this field along with a passion for sharing your knowledge and expertise with the future generation this position will be ideal for you. You will interact with students, staff and contractors daily around the College site, therefore, there will be an expectation of professional standards and behaviour to be met in the working environment at all times.
