The Team
This firm’s Energy & Infrastructure team is highly regarded for its expertise in supporting clients navigating the energy transition and climate change sectors. The team advises on cutting-edge technologies and energy solutions, such as offshore and onshore wind, hydrogen, carbon capture, energy storage, and electric vehicles. The practice focuses on providing strategic and innovative advice across a broad range of sectors, including power, renewables, and infrastructure, ensuring clients have the legal frameworks and market knowledge to succeed in a rapidly evolving industry.
The team also has a strong presence across multiple jurisdictions, offering seamless cross-border services, working on high-profile transactions and projects globally.
The Role
The successful candidate will advise on a range of power and renewable energy matters. This includes working on commercial agreements, regulatory issues, M&A, and project work across the energy and climate change sector. The role provides significant exposure to the electricity and renewables sectors and will allow the candidate to engage with hydrogen, battery, and nuclear sectors as well.
Key Responsibilities
* Advising on commercial, regulatory, and project agreements in the energy and renewables sector
* Providing legal counsel on M&A and complex transactions related to power and clean energy
* Supporting clients on multi-jurisdictional and cross-border projects
* Assisting with regulatory compliance and navigating energy sector reforms
* Offering strategic guidance on energy transition projects, including hydrogen, CCUS, and gas sectors
Key Requirements
The ideal candidate will have 2-5PQE in a leading energy or infrastructure practice. The successful applicant should demonstrate:
* Strong legal drafting and negotiation skills
* Experience advising on complex energy transactions, including regulatory and project agreements
* A deep understanding of the power and renewables sectors, with knowledge of hydrogen, CCUS, and nuclear sectors being advantageous
* Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
* A client-focused approach with a commitment to delivering high-quality legal advice
