About ARU:
ARU is a global university transforming lives through innovative, inclusive and entrepreneurial education and research. ARU holds a Gold award for the quality of its education, awarded through the Teaching Excellence Framework (TEF).
ARU’s research institutes and four faculties bridge scientific, technical and creative fields. We deliver impactful research which tackles pressing issues and makes a real difference to our communities. Our academic excellence has been recognised by the UK’s Higher Education funding bodies, with 16 of our research areas assessed as world leading. We are the largest provider of Nursing, Midwifery, Health and Social Care students in the East of England, and we are also among the UK’s leading universities for degree apprenticeship provision, working with hundreds of employers across the UK.
About the Role:
Based in the Faculty of AHESS, you’ll provide efficient and flexible administrative support for a broad range of research activities. This will be a varied role and will involve liaising with research-active academic staff and colleagues in professional services (e.g. HR, finance, procurement, hospitality, travel company etc.) to contribute to the successful delivery of research projects and related activities (e.g. events, CPD and internal communications.) This is a fantastic opportunity to join the faculty research team during a period of growth and development, supporting exciting research across a range of disciplines in the faculty’s four schools (Cambridge School of Art, Cambridge School of Creative Industries, School of Humanities and Social Sciences, School of Education) and three Research Institutes (Cambridge Institute of Music Therapy Research, International Policing and Public Protection Research Institute, and StoryLab).
With previous experience of supporting administrative processes, ideally gained in a higher education environment, you’ll be keen to develop an understanding of ARU's systems and processes and use this knowledge to support and advise colleagues across the faculty. You’ll be comfortable working with a remote/hybrid team and working in a fast-paced environment. Sound knowledge of Microsoft Office applications is essential.
