Supervising Social Worker – Fostering Support – Children – Croydon Council
Salary: Grade 14 £51,522 - £53,607
Permanent – 36 hours per week

Our fostering support team is growing. We are seeking a qualified and experienced Supervising Social Worker to join us and work together in driving the service forward.
Responsibilities:
1. Manage a caseload of foster carers.
2. Supervise foster carers of various levels of complexity, including assessment, planning implementation, and evaluation of appropriate action to ensure the welfare of the children in their care is properly and effectively safeguarded and promoted.
3. Review foster carer approvals.
4. Work within a professional network to ensure that the needs of the children and young people are met.
5. Utilize a range of systemic ideas in your work, promoting a practice philosophy that seeks to empower service users, build on individual strengths, and develop strategies to understand, manage, and respond to risk.
Essential Requirements:
1. Qualified and registered Social Workers / Advanced Social Workers who are Social Work England registered and have completed your AYSE.
2. Experienced in making assessments, implementing plans, and delivering interventions.
3. Skilled in managing complex cases and competent in presenting cases in court with demonstrable professionalism and empathy.
4. Experience of working in a statutory setting is desirable; however, it is not essential.
5. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential, as well as a creative approach to conveying compelling messages.
