Ward Manager/ Team Leader Acute Care Services (Mental Health)
An exciting full-time opportunity has arisen for a Ward Manager to work as part of our dedicated team within Bryngolau Older Adult Mental Health Ward, Prince Philip Hospital.
We are looking for someone who is a highly motivated, innovative, and enthusiastic individual, who can demonstrate an eagerness for the ongoing development of the service.
Bryngolau ward is a 15-bed older adult mental health ward based in Llanelli. It caters for older adults service users with organic and/or functional mental health needs.
Main duties of the job
The successful applicant will have experience of working in an older adult acute in-patient setting and will demonstrate and lead dynamic and innovative practice.
The Service strives to provide high-quality acute inpatient mental health care to the local population. The post holder would be expected to demonstrate leadership and resilience in the face of the day-to-day clinical, managerial, and professional demands of the role.
The post holder will be a qualified and registered Mental Health Nurse and will provide clinical leadership and management to an established and developing team of clinicians.
The successful candidate will be required to demonstrate they have the skills, knowledge, and experience to provide clinical leadership and operational management for the service. The successful candidate will also require excellent interpersonal communication skills, be able to work across agencies and services, and demonstrate a high-level understanding of local and regional developments.
The successful candidate will have access to regular clinical and managerial supervision.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Qualifications and Knowledge
* RMN (RNMH)
* Have or with equivalent experience prepared to undertake a recognised management qualification and or a specialist qualification related to working with individuals with serious enduring mental illness at postgraduate diploma level
* Highly developed Specialist knowledge and expertise acquired through a combination of in-depth experience and advanced training skills developed through specialist post-registration training
* Highly Specialist Knowledge of clinical area and client group required to perform effectively in the post
* WNB 998/Practice Teacher Award and assessing or equivalent
* HCR-20 Training
Experience
* Leadership skills, current experience in area of practice or similar
* Previous experience of supervising staff
* Relevant previous experience of working in a multi-professional/agency setting
* Experience at manager/leadership role
Language Skills
* Welsh Speaker (Level 1)
