Job Description:
The role of SEN / SEND Tutor involves working with children and young people who require additional educational support. As a SEN / SEND Tutor, you will be responsible for providing Maths, English, or Science tuition in a flexible and holistic manner.
Your primary goal is to enhance the educational and social-emotional journey of these young people, helping them overcome their challenges and achieve their full potential.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lesson Planning: Plan engaging and effective sessions that cater to the individual needs of each student.
* Tutoring and Mentoring: Deliver high-quality tuition and guidance to students with Special Education Needs and Disabilities (SEND), Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, Moderate and Severe Learning Difficulties (MLD/SLD), and other Additional Educational Needs.
* Progress Tracking: Monitor and document student progress, providing regular feedback to parents, carers, and our team of SEN / SEND Support Specialists.
Requirements:
* Qualifications: Professional Teaching Qualifications (Qualified Teacher Status / QTS / QTLS)
* Experience: Minimum 2 years teaching experience, with a focus on working with students with SEND, SEMH, MLD, SLD, and other Additional Educational Needs
* Safeguarding: Experience and knowledge of safeguarding processes and procedures
* References: Two professional references, with at least one from a previous employer
* Licensing and Certification: Enhanced DBS (we can assist with obtaining this at cost if needed)
