Systemic Eating Disorder Family Therapist; Band 7
Sussex Family Eating Disorder Service are seeking to recruit a Band 7 Systemic Eating Disorder Family Therapist.
SFEDS works with young people aged 10-18 with Anorexia Nervosa, Bulimia Nervosa and Atypical Anorexia Nervosa and their families, to support recovery through Evidence Based Interventions such as Maudsley Family Therapy models, group work, and CBTE.
You will be joining a multi-disciplinary team comprised of; Service Manager, Psychiatry, Paediatrics, Clinical Psychology and Assistant Psychology, Systemic Psychotherapy, Occupational Therapy, Nursing staff, Support Workers, Dietitian, and Social Workers with support from our administration team.
The Service provides interventions across East & West Sussex and Brighton and Hove.
We would welcome a conversation or applications from Systemic Eating Disorder Family Therapists who are currently in training (who currently have a core profession and are qualified but registration pending).
Main duties of the job
As a Systemic Eating Disorder Family Therapist, you will undertake assessments, diagnosis and deliver evidence based treatment in accordance with NICE Guidelines, providing family intervention to support the recovery of young people who are suffering from Anorexia Nervosa and Bulimia Nervosa.
You will manage a caseload; you will work with our Tier 4 care providers and other internal/external services who are supporting those open to the service. You will undertake training and support the wider MDT in training and understanding the systemic model and thinking in their practice.
You will work autonomously and as part of the MDT in delivering a high-quality service in the community whilst supporting the delivery of meeting national standards. You should be organised, motivated and passionate about treating young people and families.
You will be supported by and work closely with the rest of our multi-disciplinary team.

REQUIREMENTS
In order to be a successful Systemic Eating Disorder Family Therapist in our team you will be:
* A Registered Mental Health Nurse OR Qualified Psychotherapist, Family Therapist, Social Worker, Occupational Therapist or Psychologist
* Comfortable in providing intervention and treatment for young people with eating disorders
* Experienced in working with people presenting with mental health problems
It would also be advantageous if you have:
* Experience within an Eating Disorders team/service
This is a full-time post; part-time hours can be considered (Minimum 22.5 hrs per week).

Qualifications
* Recognised/accredited postgraduate level training in a psychological therapy
* Professionally registered as specified
* Additional pre- and/or post-qualification training
Knowledge / Experience
* Substantial experience of specialist psychological therapy working with young people with an eating disorder
* A high level of competence in applying a psychological therapy to complex difficulties within the Care Group
* Experience of offering teaching, training and supervision
* Experience of delivering group interventions
* Evidence of continued professional development
* Lived experience of mental health issues
Skills
* Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing
* Proven ability to establish, maintain and conclude therapeutic relationships with service users and their families
* Skills in the use of complex methods of psychological assessment, formulation and intervention
* Ability to plan and manage a workload
* Ability to supervise and support psychological professionals
* IT skills including the ability to use electronic clinical record systems
* Ability to teach and train others.
