NA1 POSITION PURPOSE The EMEA Product Strategy Manager’s primary role is to be part of the EMEA Product Strategy function that are tasked with providing market research and analysis to support the EMEA Product Management function. Acting with a high degree of autonomy, and consistent with TRP’s global aims, the EMEA Product Strategy Manager will be responsible for developing, in collaboration with the EMEA Product Management lead team a robust product strategy & roadmap ensuring the plan reflects EMEA clients’ existing and future needs, to support the wider EMEA Strategic Plan while ensuring alignment with TRP’s capabilities and priorities. Specifically, the role involves cross border product strategy, development and management responsibilities. EMEA Product Strategy - to identify EMEA market and channel demand drivers, current and future client needs to support the development of the EMEA product strategy & roadmap to support the growth ambitions of the EMEA distribution business. This will include research to serve the cross-border distribution of EMEA based products. EMEA Product Development – research to support the design of EMEA sponsored new products and the development of business cases to ensure the new products are optimal from legal, operational, sales and marketing and, above all, EMEA client perspective. EMEA Product Management - the ongoing assessment of existing EMEA product suite to ensure it is “fit for purpose” and identifying opportunities to modify the existing product suite. The EMEA Product Strategy Manager needs to work in close partnership with the EMEA Product Management team, Asset Class Product Managers, other Product Management teams as well as with EMEA Distribution, Marketing, Client Operations, Investment Operations, Legal, Risk and Compliance teams, expected to collaborate with other regional market research and channel product functions globally to exchange best practices and to ensure greater leverage and co-ordination across the enterprise. The EMEA Product Strategy Manager is a member of the EMEA Product Strategy team and the position reports to the Head of EMEA Product Strategy. Principal Responsibilities Work in collaboration with the EMEA Product Management lead team and global product colleagues to develop a robust EMEA Product Strategy & Roadmap including a framework for continually assessing market demand (including key product features & pricing) for current and new products. Be responsible for and oversee the development of the framework to continually assessing market demand, competitive landscape (including key product features & pricing) for current and future EMEA products. Be responsible for conducting research to support the design of new products, from an EMEA perspective, which would include the consideration of investment design parameters, naming, pricing, appropriateness of product wrappers. Be responsible for and oversee the development of new business cases including but not limited to the financial assessment including size of potential EMEA opportunity and TRP’s ability to capture EMEA market share. Working in collaboration with the Product Range Management team provide oversight and research to support EMEA Product Pricing initiatives ensuring that EMEA based products continue to priced in keeping with TRP’s Pricing principles but at the same time meeting the needs of the EMEA market. Oversight of EMEA TRP seeding allocations producing analysis to support both the allocation of seed to products as well as recommendations relating to seed redemptions. CANDIDATE SPECIFICATION: KEY SELECTION CRITERIA AND IDEAL EXPERIENCE University graduate, CFA preferred Proven experience in market research and analysis roles within the asset management industry Demonstrable knowledge of the EMEA investment funds industry, the EMEA competitive landscape, the cross-border and UK markets, the regulation and business environment. Understanding about the product vehicles/wrappers available within the EMEA market (intermediary and institutional) including for example SICAV funds structured as UCITS and UK domiciled OEIC structures. Superior Excel and PowerPoint Skills and strong ability to translate large amount of data into clear and simple visuals/charts – experience with VBA/macro coding to automate tasks would be a strong advantage. Knowledge and experience of Morningstar Direct, Broadridge, eVestment and Mercer databases. Some experience of Strategic Insight (Simfund), Spence Johnson, Lipper or instiHub would be an advantage. A sophisticated understanding of investing, covering the key asset classes Strong communication skills and experience at building senior relationships with an ability to develop, influence and work within an increasingly matrixed global structure across distribution (relationship management) marketing, product, investment, operations, legal and compliance Effective project management and co-ordination abilities. Understanding of strategy and business development processes, practices and applications Additional European languages would be an advantage.
