Academics LTD is working with a specialist school in Reading that provides tailored support for children aged 5 to 18 with a range of mental, emotional, and social needs. The school is seeking a resilient and proactive Youth Mental Health Support Worker to join their team. This role offers the chance to gain valuable hands-on experience working alongside qualified SEN professionals and psychologists.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Collaborating closely with external specialists and psychologists
2. Supporting children with Social and Emotional Mental Health (SEMH) needs
3. Helping students develop emotional regulation and social interaction skills
4. Demonstrating a passion for working with children or an interest in the SEN field
5. Having a positive, energetic attitude and the ability to stay calm under pressure
This position is ideal for graduates looking to gain experience in an educational setting or for those who want to pursue a career in Psychology or Mental Health. Prior experience is not required, but relevant qualifications such as a Degree, Level 3 qualifications, or any experience working with SEN children will be considered valuable.

The role will involve working on a 1:1 basis and in groups with children who face behavioural challenges, sensory issues, and communication difficulties, making it a unique chance to develop essential skills in this field.
Job Details:
* Role: Youth Mental Health Support Worker
* Location: Reading
* Salary: £83 - £95 per day (dependent on experience, training, and qualifications)
* Contract: Long-term temporary with the possibility of becoming permanent
* Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday (8:30 am - 3:30 pm)
* Experience: Preferred but not essential
