The Role We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Start to Finish worker to support young people to join our Safer Communities Team. In this role, you will support a cohort of individuals, specifically young people age 16-25years old, who are impacting on the safety of communities and demand of multiple organisations/agencies within North Somerset. A whole person approach is taken to reduce re-offending by targeted and intensive 1-2-1 work to identify pathway interventions and social prescribing opportunities in relation to accommodation, health, education/employment/training, substance misuse, debt. This role is Fixed term - Maternity Cover - 12 months or on return of postholder, whichever is first. Key Responsibilities: Complete initial assessments of clients allocated to you and supporting them within the agreed and identified pathways Attend individual meetings and agree targets, key deliverables and monitor their impact Establish & maintain appropriate links between colleagues, partners and other professionals Analyse and interpret data and information and make recommendations or write reports to support decision making by others for a broad range of activities Be involved in organising and oversee delivery of key elements and briefings to reflect national and local practice This position is exempt under the provisions of the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions) Order 1975 and is subject to an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check. Valid driving licence and own transport, or be able to provide alternative, suitable method of travel is an essential condition for this role. About You We are looking for an individual who is passionate about supporting young people to achieve positive outcomes and who possesses the following skills and experience: Essential Criteria: Vocational qualification or experience to level 3 or 4 relevant to the service users or equivalent. Knowledge and experience of engaging individuals with complex needs. Knowledge and understanding of Criminal Justice and Reducing Reoffending pathways. Knowledge and understanding of safeguarding protocols and the threshold levels for service users groups. Significant practical experience of public service delivery, giving rise to a variety of technical skills and sound understanding of the services available, work practices and processes relevant to the role. Ability to make analytical reasoning and recommendations about particular areas of work.
