Our Cambridge-based quantum software team is seeking to hire an accomplished Software Engineer for our cloud platform. In this role, you will develop and deliver the cloud infrastructure and application services for our quantum computing platform. You will work closely with our research and software teams to continuously improve the platform's usability and reliability.
Key to this role is you will be a competent software engineer with Python, Rust or Modern C++ coding experience, combining this with experience of deploying software to cloud-based AWS or Azure platforms. Coding will be a significant part of this role.
Our team aims to make using quantum computing resources as simple as sending an email. The ideal candidate for this role will be experienced in taking user needs from concept to implementation and be confident in making technical decisions as part of a team.
This is an exciting opportunity for a candidate to work closely with world-leading researchers and build software which supports their scientific developments.
The ideal candidate will have:
* 5+ years experience of professional software engineering
* Confidence in leading engineering discussions and decision making
* Experience developing in Python
* Experience working with PostgreSQL or similar database technologies
* Experience working with Terraform or other “Infrastructure as Code” tools
* Experience deploying software to managed cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure etc
* Experience working with or a desire to learn Rust
* A 2:1 degree or higher in Computer Science, Mathematics, Science or Engineering
It would be desirable to have:
* Experience working in Kubernetes
* Knowledge of/Interest in Quantum Computing
* Knowledge of common distributed system architectures
* Experience developing in Typescript
