Project Overview: Bechtel is seeking to expand its decades long relationship with Reliance by providing Project Management Consultant (PMC) Services and Engineering Procurement and Construction Management (EPCM) Services for offsites and utilities (OSBL) for a multi-billion-dollar upgrade / expansion of existing petrochemical facilities in India. Reliance plans to augment its existing petrochemical facilities in Dahej, Gujarat, and Nagothane, Maharashtra, to expand its PVC capacity. The PMC Services will be led out of India with personnel deployed in Mumbai region, the project sites in India, as well as several key contractor locations across India. The EPCM Services for OSBL will be led out of Bechtel’s India offices. The positions on the project will start as assignment in Navi Mumbai. Job Summary: Candidate will be responsible for developing and managing the structural design approach, schedule and technical quality of the work undertaken by the contractor that candidate will be assigned responsible for. In addition candidate is responsible for assigned activities within the Civil / Structural / Architectural engineering discipline on the project. Applies broad and diversified knowledge of engineering principles and practices. Makes decisions independently concerning problems within the discipline. Represents the discipline on the project with Contractors and Owner to resolve technical questions and as required to coordinate work. Major Responsibilities: Plans, develops, guides, coordinates and reviews structural technically complex engineering work being undertaken by the sub contractor. Coordinates and interfaces with the day-to-day technical work of discipline engineers Manages technical discussions with third parties (client, suppliers, regulators) to facilitate appropriate technical decisions Prepares or oversees the preparation of discipline estimates and work plans Coordinates with client representatives Reviews bid summaries, major drawings and staffing estimates and schedules. Oversees works to be performed by the design contractors Provide technical support to resolve construction and startup questions and issues. When necessary, has the technical competence to independently develop deliverables and conduct design reviews. Communicates complex technical issues and recommends solutions Education and Experience Requirements: Requires a bachelor's degree (or international equivalent). Required Knowledge and Skills: Manages and directs contractors structural design team to ensure technically correct approach and timeliness of deliverable.
