An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Project Manager to join NHS Greater Manchester-Stockport as Project Manager for Children and Families.

This post sits within the Transformation and Delivery Department, a dynamic team responsible for programmes delivering whole system transformation.

Main duties of the job
The Project Manager will:
1. Support the Senior Programme Manager in the development and implementation of the strategies, projects, and delivery plans for NHS GM Stockport services for Children, Young people, and families.
2. Work closely with a range of professionals, families, and stakeholders across systems and organisations on the strategic development and redesign of services for children, young people, and families.
3. Manage a variety of projects from inception to mobilisation.
4. Support the programme of work for Special Education Needs for Disability (SEND).
5. Work with the wider team to monitor and manage commissioned services and outcomes across the health economy reporting on key themes and risks.
6. Complete commissioning service reviews and support provider procurement and contracting.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. The Project Manager will be required to contribute to the development and delivery of strategies and operational delivery plans.
2. You will work with the Senior Programme Manager for children and maternity with a focus on managing a variety of commissioning projects.
3. As part of a wider team, you will monitor and manage commissioned services and outcomes across the health economy reporting on key locality themes and risks to the Greater Manchester Integrated Care.
4. Help implement recovery plans with providers where there are issues with service delivery and performance.
5. Develop and utilize a knowledge base from a range of commissioning services to ensure delivery of elements of Stockport’s strategic plans.
6. Respond to complaints, Freedom of Information Act requests, and other corporate enquiries and/or investigations as appropriate.
7. Plan and organize individual work schedule to ensure that activities are effectively prioritized and completed within agreed timescales to deliver an effective and efficient service.
8. Support the implementation of commissioning plans that incorporate patient and public involvement and measure patient satisfaction. Use this feedback as a tool in performance and commissioning reviews.
9. Contribute to the development of key performance indicators for the successful assessment of individual and work stream success.
10. Support the Senior Programme Manager to undertake strategic needs assessment and commissioning reviews of services as part of the commissioning cycle to ensure population need is met and services are responsive to need.
11. Contribute to the development, redesign, and implementation of pathways as a means of securing services that are based on evidence-based and quality assurance practices and values and value for money.
12. Support the development and production of service specifications and commissioning plans for specified projects.
13. In conjunction with clinical leads and commissioning managers support the development of project plans for implementing change in relevant areas.
14. Horizon scan for future priorities and opportunities and ensure that development of appropriate plans and responses to local, Greater Manchester and national priorities.
15. To support implementation, in partnership with clinical leads, changes to service pathways to maximize quality, efficiency, and outcomes.
16. Be responsible for own personal development and to participate in any development programmes which are commissioned by, or on behalf of NHS GM.
17. Working alongside the Senior Programme Manager to support procurement processes.
18. Work effectively as part of the Stockport Transformation and Integration Team and the wider Greater Manchester Integrated Care team to undertake duties and responsibilities delegated by senior managers as appropriate.
Person specification
Qualifications
* Educated to degree level or possessing equivalent experience in a health care setting.
Experience
* Experience of service review and transformation in the NHS, public sector, and/or third sector.
* Experience in a range of healthcare settings.
Knowledge
* Knowledge of the NHS landscape and healthcare commissioning process.
* Knowledge of a specific area of NHS commissioning and transformation such as Paediatrics, Special Education and Disability, Women’s Health, maternity services.
