We are currently seeking a Volunteer Minibus Driver to join our passionate team in Lincoln, ensuring young people can access the experiences they deserve. About the Role As a Minibus Driver with Kids, you’ll play a key part in delivering high-quality experiences for children and young people by ensuring safe, reliable transport to and from our sessions. This is a flexible, “as and when” position—ideal if you're looking for rewarding, part-time work that fits around your lifestyle. Your Key Responsibilities Will Include: Driving the Kids minibus to transport children and young people with disabilities to and from clubs, outings, and activity venues during after-school hours and school holidays. Being vigilant and proactive in ensuring the safety and comfort of all passengers at all times. Supporting the team by transporting staff to various locations as needed. Performing and documenting daily safety checks on the minibus and promptly reporting any issues or concerns to the SEND Lead or Play & Leisure Co-ordinator. Maintaining clear records, such as vehicle checklists and other essential paperwork. Communicating effectively and compassionately with children, especially those with limited or alternative communication methods. Creating a respectful and supportive environment that recognises the cultural, linguistic, religious, and emotional needs of each young person. Adhering to all Kids policies, including safeguarding, health & safety, and equality and diversity guidelines. Being open to training opportunities that support personal development and compliance with KIDS’ high standards. Essential Requirements: A full UK driving licence with D1 category (required for driving a minibus). A flexible and reliable attitude—willing to work varied hours as needed. A caring, non-judgemental approach, and the ability to create a welcoming atmosphere for all. Strong awareness of safeguarding and health & safety procedures. Desirable: Experience working with or supporting children or young people with disabilities or special educational needs (SEN).
