ABOUT THE ROLE
Northumbria University is seeking a talented and motivated Postdoctoral Research Fellow to join an exciting project under UK-HyRES, the UK Hub for Research Challenges in Hydrogen and Alternative Liquid Fuels. This role will research advanced electrochemical methods for catalytic ammonia synthesis directly from atmospheric nitrogen (N₂). This position provides the chance to collaborate with leading researchers from the UK-HyRES hub and receive dedicated training and career development support from Northumbria University and the project supervision team.
The role is fixed term for 12 months.
ABOUT YOU
We are looking for candidates with expertise in 2-3 (or more) of the following areas:
1. Electrochemical engineering
2. Plasma nitriding
3. Catalytic reactions
4. Multiphysics simulation
5. Machine learning and AI applications in chemical engineering
A PhD (or equivalent) in a relevant field and a strong research background are essential. Experience with interdisciplinary collaboration is highly valued.
