BROSCO by Boise Cascade has an exciting opening for an Entry-Level Plant Mechanic. The position offers $22 per hour.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
To perform this job successfully, you must have the ability to perform each essential duty and responsibility satisfactorily. The duties and responsibilities listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and physical ability required:
* Follow all safety rules set forth by the company, ensuring you work in a safe manner.
* Develop and perform all periodic maintenance inspections (PMIs) on all mechanical and hydraulic shop/warehouse equipment to manufacturer’s specifications.
* Possess working knowledge and demonstrate skills in welding, electrical systems, hydraulics, HVAC, mechanical systems, and diesel motors.
* Requisition bids and proposals from vendors for facility maintenance repairs and make recommendations for annual capital expense repairs or replacements.
* Perform or subcontract ground maintenance activities such as mowing, trimming, and disposing of refuse.
* Requisition tools, equipment, and supplies.
* Paint and perform structural repairs to buildings.
* Inspect work for conformance to blueprints and specifications.
* Establish or adjust work procedures to meet production schedules.
* Suggest changes in working conditions to increase efficiency.
* Analyze and resolve production machinery problems.
* Maintain time and production records on equipment as directed.
* Monitor and test fire protection, security systems, heating, and cooling systems.
* Maintain and update Certificates of Insurance for vendors and subcontractors.
* Regular attendance is required; you must be consistently at work and on time.
* Adapt to changes in the work environment and deal with frequent change or unexpected work assignments.
* Set and achieve personal and team goals.
* Strive to continuously build product knowledge and skills.
* Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications: HS Diploma, GED, or two (2) years equivalent work experience. Must be able to understand and communicate safety and work-related instructions. Ability to apply fundamental mathematical calculations. General warehouse experience required.
Preferred Qualifications: Typically more than seven (7) years of experience in a related job function. Role may require technical certification or associate's degree. Certification in maintenance of internal combustion engines, gear train, brake, suspension, electrical, hydraulic systems, etc. Understanding of OSHA and environmental regulations is preferred.
