The Essex Alcohol Recovery Community is seeking an experienced practitioner to undertake a unique role as a Hospital Liaison Practitioner within Essex. You will advocate on behalf of clients within A&E and liaise with family members, social services, GPs, and others. You will be based at Princess Alexandra Hospital (Harlow) but will also support and cover for other areas within Essex.
The Role
We are looking for an individual with experience in the substance misuse sector or health care profession to fulfill a range of tasks from case management to group work. You will need to be passionate about recovery and work with clients to support, motivate, and manage them to access a wide variety of services.
Previous experience is desirable, however not essential. Support Workers come from various backgrounds and experiences, and you may possess the required skills. We seek dedicated individuals based on your values, willingness to learn new skills, and compassion to deliver the best service possible to our residents.
Due to the nature of working within a hospital, there is flexibility on hours and days worked.
About You
You will need:
* An understanding of the complex issues presented by individuals within alcohol recovery.
* Experience of working with individuals in the substance use sector or related field.
* Ability to plan, organize and deliver brief 1-2-1 interventions relating to problematic alcohol use.
* Ability to plan, organize and co-facilitate structured groups, including theoretical models.
* Confidence in managing a caseload, including managing recovery capital, assessments, reports, and referral pathways.
* Excellent communication skills.
* Ability to work as part of a team as well as using your own initiative when required and managing your time independently.
* Ability to work effectively with multi-agencies while maintaining the excellent reputation of the service.
