Salary – Grade 4 SCP 06 – 11
£17,112.70 - £18,529.52 actual salary per annum

We are looking for a Level 2 Learning Support Assistant to work within The Orchard classroom, our Specialist Resource Provision (SRP). You will be working alongside the Teacher and other Learning Support Assistants with a small group of pupils who have Special Educational Needs.
The successful candidate will need:
1. To establish good working relationships with the class teacher and SENDCO
2. To work with the teacher to establish an appropriate learning environment
3. To support the delivery of learning activities and support pupils 1 to 1 and in a group during these activities.
4. To promote positive values and attitudes
5. To communicate effectively with children, parents and colleagues
6. To monitor pupils’ responses to learning activities and accurately record achievement/progress as directed
7. To prepare, maintain and use equipment/resources required to meet the lesson plans/relevant learning activity and assist pupils in their use
8. NVQ Level 2 Qualification in supporting Teaching and Learning or equivalent is a requirement
9. Good Numeracy and Literacy skills
10. Makaton training would be an advantage.
The successful candidate will demonstrate:
* Good knowledge of the curriculum
* The ability to support children at all levels, but particularly children with SEN.
* Commitment to working within a team to continue to provide quality services for our children and families.

The successful applicant will then be required to undertake an enhanced DBS and other pre-employment checks.
