Role
Our client is looking to recruit Trainee Telegraph Pole Engineers to join their experienced and dedicated team. This is a permanent full-time role working across the West Midlands, and you will be required to work at any other location as determined by the needs of the Company to fulfil your role.
Responsibilities
1. The role of Trainee Telegraph Pole Engineer is a physical and technically demanding role at times and requires engineers who are physically fit and have an excellent work ethic.
2. Full training will be provided and will take approximately 7-8 months to complete. On successful completion, each engineer will have a salary review and be placed on a bonus incentive scheme.
3. You will report to the designated Supervisor and promote a positive image of the company, completing all your duties to a high standard and in an efficient, customer-focused manner.
4. Collecting and delivering telegraph poles to various sites daily.
5. Attaching pole furniture to poles before installation.
6. Replacing telegraph poles that are due for renewal.
7. Reporting progress into the office throughout the day.
8. Excavating in the highway.
9. Replacement of overhead/underground phone cables.
10. Fibre/Copper Jointing.
11. Termination of telephone lines.
Requirements
1. The ideal candidate will be a self-motivated and hardworking individual with a flexible approach to their work.
2. Enjoy working as part of a team as well as independently, with a positive can-do attitude.
3. This is a physically demanding role that involves working at heights.
4. Holding a full UK Cat C licence (HGV Class 2).
5. Computer literate.
6. A good level of physical fitness to undertake the tasks of the role.
7. Ability to work at heights.
8. Ability to communicate effectively with clients.
9. Willing to undertake relevant training and development.
10. A strong commitment to Health and Safety.
11. Prepared to work overtime and have flexibility to work unsocial hours to meet the needs of the business.
