About the role
A support role to the characterisation engineers, the primary objective of which is to maintain tools to maximize uptime and fit for purpose status. Perform specialised characterisation on tools not held as part of the suite available to production operators (with particular reference to oxidation, x-ray topography and atomic force microscopy). The nature of this role is dynamic with new techniques being investigated and an expectation to take on new responsibilities as they occur.
Key responsibilities;
Assist in the maintenance of characterisation systems as requested by characterisation engineers/manager
To control the storage of calibration wafers and customer reference samples inside/outside of the cleanroom
To perform regular stock checks of consumable items used in tool operation and replenish as necessary and liaise with GSM for re-ordering of stock.
Train in the use of characterisation tools and perform routine calibration measurements thereon
To participate in any training that is requested by Characterisation Engineer or Manager
Maintenance of cleanroom items as specified by characterisation engineers.
Operation of the IR microscope for measurement of processed oxidized wafers on the NP site.
Operation of the Koyo oxidation furnace and the Bruker XRT systems currently located within a leased room at the Newport Wafer Fab (NWF facility.
Adherence to all internal safety, HR, environmental and quality guidelines & procedures of the IQEP group and those of NWF.
