SRM are working with a Hemel Hempstead based client who are seeking a Finalist level Management Accountant to join their friendly finance team You will support in the timely and accurate preparation of monthly and annual statutory reporting, ensuring efficient processes and strong controls to minimise risk. This role is heavily focused on systems and processes, requiring a structured, detail-oriented, and methodical approach. Responsibilities: Support the preparation of monthly profit & loss and balance sheet reports, including variance analysis and clear commentary. Analyse revenue by item group and part code to support month-end profitability assessments. Take ownership of specific P&L cost lines (e.g., rebates, marketing, deferred revenue, prepayments, fixed assets), ensuring accurate general ledger entries. Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations to identify risks and opportunities. Contribute to the 13-week rolling cash flow forecast, ensuring data accuracy and consistency with assumptions. Post monthly accruals and prepayments into the general ledger. Maintain robust data controls within the finance function and ERP system, particularly for Partcodes, VAT, and GRNI. Manage the fixed asset register, including monthly processes and reconciliations. Assist in the preparation of year-end accounts and audit documentation. Provide financial insights and support to non-finance stakeholders, including budgeting and forecasting. Help develop and implement financial policies and procedures to ensure compliance and best practice. Collaborate with various finance teams (AP, AR, Credit Control, FP&A) to support overall department performance. Participate in ad hoc finance projects and initiatives as needed. Promote engagement across the finance team and wider business functions. Essential: Strong systems awareness with intermediate Excel skills; confident working with large data sets using pivot tables, lookups, and similar functions. Experience with SAP Business One Finalist level ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent qualification preferred. High attention to detail and accuracy. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
