After rapid, consistent growth, the business has realised the need for a transformation director as they’ve naturally outgrown systems, processes, tech and need a new strategy to help ensure they are more streamlined, efficient and move towards a continuous improvement process.
What’s the role for a Tech led Business Transformation Director?
The role will report into the board and their hope is within the first 3-6 months you’ll help analyses the business strengths then provide strategic direction in creating a a new 6-18 month transformational plan to hit key objectives.
You’ll take over the IT department (50+) looking after the systems, data, and overall tech department. Then look to organically grow this whilst building out a change team to help improve everything from leading big change projects to tightening up policies, processes, and compliance. Naturally you’ll work closely with senior leaders across the business to make sure the business runs like clockwork while embracing opportunities to innovate and improve.
What the Business Transformation Director has to have:
We’re after someone who’s a natural leader, big on collaboration, and able to think strategically while getting stuck into the detail when needed. Ideally, you must demonstrate;
Experience of working in a transformation director role or head of change that reports directly into the Board or a CEO/MD
Solid experience leading, driving & creating strategic business change and business improvement projects in fast-paced, multi-site environments.
The key is to have worked in a fast growing SME business that doesn’t have any business change processes in place as this is new to a business. This experience is key as you look to rapidly effect change in this environment and implement new change procedures & policies.
Demonstrable experience looking after a large team (20+) ideally within tech and change.
Any certifications in project management (e.g., PRINCE2), process improvement (Lean, Six Sigma), or risk management are great to have.
