They are seeking a dedicated and experienced Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENDCo) to join their team in a full-time, permanent capacity starting this September. Position Summary The successful candidate will lead the school's SEND provision, ensuring that students with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) receive the support and resources necessary to thrive academically and personally. The role entails: Strategically leading and managing the school's SEND provision, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements and best practices. Collaborating with teachers, support staff, parents, and external agencies to develop and implement effective Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) and interventions. Overseeing the identification and assessment of students with SEND, ensuring timely and appropriate support is provided. Leading professional development initiatives to enhance staff understanding and implementation of inclusive teaching practices. Advocating for the needs of students with SEND, promoting their inclusion and well-being within the school community. Qualifications and Experience: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching certification. National Award for SEN Coordination (NASENCO) or a willingness to complete the qualification. Proven experience in a SENDCo or similar leadership role within a secondary school setting. In-depth knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice and relevant legislation. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
