Electro-Mechanical Engineer
Job Type: Full-time - Day Shift, 35 hour working week
Location: Duxford (driving licence essential due to location)
Salary: Up to £44,000pa
Reed Engineering in Cambridge are excited to be working with one of the worlds most renowned establishments who are seeking an Electro-Mechanical Engineer to join their Engineering department. This role is crucial for ensuring high levels of service by delivering planned maintenance, service and reactive repair work for all electro-mechanical equipment. The Electro-Mechanical Engineer will also recommend and implement improvements to enhance production efficiency and reliability.
Day-to-day of the role:
1. Adhere to health and safety standards in all activities and promote safe working practices.
2. Deliver periodic and condition-based preventative maintenance schedules for all electro-mechanical equipment to maintain high levels of reliability and maximise efficiency.
3. Conduct 1st Level reactive service and repair work, diagnosing issues promptly and efficiently, utilising OEM/third party support where required.
4. Work with operations teams to offer engineering expertise in the design and delivery of improvements for electro-mechanical equipment.
5. Undertake risk assessments for all electro-mechanical equipment in liaison with the Engineering Manager.
6. Maintain professional competence, including training and development as appropriate.
7. Ensure procedure and maintenance records are maintained and audit technical support documentation for accuracy and availability.
8. Catalogue and audit technical spares and consumables, making recommendations and undertaking spares ordering as required.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
1. Minimum of Level 3 qualification in Electrical/Electronic Engineering.
2. Understanding of PLC programming logic.
3. Ability to read electrical and mechanical schematic drawings.
4. Excellent fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
5. Strong Electrical and Mechanical aptitude, with knowledge of pneumatic and hydraulic circuits and controls.
6. Experience with installation and support of PLC systems.
7. Good communication and interpersonal skills.
8. Computer literacy, encompassing current MS Office Applications.
9. Experience in high-quality and high-volume environments, with secure and safe systems of working (highly desirable).
10. Experience with CMMS systems (desirable).
