Role Summary
You will be responsible for the provision of a Materials Management service to an allocated area of wards/departments. This is one of the more manual roles within Facilities as it means visiting wards as well as office-based work. You will need to be organised and show strong confident communication skills when working with end users especially when urgent orders are needed. You need to be physically fit, this job can involve manual handling, pushing and pulling. You need to be adaptable to change, sometimes at short notice. Ensures stock and PPE is maintained at the appropriate levels using hand held data capture devices. Distribution of goods as required to each location, putting away stock and managing store rooms to agreed standards. Providing a comprehensive interface for Materials Management customers.

1. To successfully complete a level 2 apprenticeship
2. To provide a professional and effective materials management and goods in service to meet the needs of the Trust
3. To prioritise ones, work to ensure the needs of the service.
4. To ensure the service is responsive to the demands placed upon it. Working closely with the wider Procurement team and budget holders to maintain all operational requirements.
5. To contribute to the on-going development and delivery of the material’s management service.
6. Contribute to the delivery of a quality service to all patients, staff and visitors in accordance with the Trust’s purpose and values.
7. To work on own initiative and manage their own, and the team’s workload, prioritise that workload in agreement with the operations manager, ensuring that all commitments and deadlines are met.
8. To maintain records and provision of statistical information as required.
9. To assist the team as necessary in maintaining the electronic order processing system product
10. To assist as required, especially in improvements to the materials management department service, and identify cost saving opportunities.
11. To answer emails promptly and courteously and taking appropriate action
12. To answer telephones promptly and courteously, actioning and taking messages where appropriate.
13. To work on receipt point, receipting and receiving goods as required
14. To ensure allocated wards/departments have adequate Personal Protective Equipment
