Job overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen in the BSW area to work as a Senior Practitioner with the Mental Health Integrated Access Partnership (IAP), working on the new Mental Health Response Vehicle (MHRV), a purpose-built emergency mental health vehicle, providing mental health crisis care from Chippenham Ambulance Station.
Our award-winning, nationally-recognised initiative brings together BrisDoc Healthcare Services, Avon and Wiltshire Mental Health Partnership Foundation Trust, and South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust to provide an integrated and multi-agency front door service for people in mental health crisis across both 999 and 111, with the aim of reducing inappropriate A&E attendances, decreasing S136 detentions, and improving care outcomes.
We are seeking a dedicated Senior Practitioner to join our dynamic IAP team. The primary purpose of this role is to deliver responsive high-quality mental health triage and assessment across various settings on board newly procured dedicated blue light mental health vehicles.
In this role, you will primarily work on the MHRV, responding from Chippenham Ambulance Station in BSW. Additionally, you will rotate within the wider IAP model, either at the Mental Health Specialist Desk (999 Ambulance Control Room, Bradley Stoke) or the Mental Health 111 Clinical Assessment Service (Whitchurch, Bristol), depending on your preference or proximity to your home.

2. Offer clinical support and advice to emergency service professionals.
3. Coordinate seamless, integrated responses addressing both mental and physical health needs.
4. Participate in service development and quality improvement initiatives.
5. Supervise and support team members, promoting a culture of continuous learning and excellence.
6. Contribute to our seven day a week service, working 1400-0200.
