Position Summary: The role of the fitter is to carry out mandatory services and associated repairs. Key Accountabilities/ responsibilities: - To have a good understanding of vehicle mechanical interfaces and repairs of vehicle components. - To be able to install / repair hydraulic systems. - To be able to fault find and carry out diagnostic investigation work. - Previous engine knowledge would be advantageous. - To overhaul of raft components. - To be able to understand schematic drawings. - To undertake training as and when required. - To work within a realistic timeframe. - To mentor trainees / apprentices when applicable. - To ensure that waste is disposed of in the correct manner. - To adhere to written or verbal instructions. Background & Experience: - The ability to work within a changing environment with deadlines and short lead times. - To adhere always to the company's Health, Safety & Environmental instructions and requirements. - Take on any other reasonable responsibilities or tasks that are within the employee's skills and abilities Qualifications/Education required: - Recognised Mechanical Engineering apprenticeship or equivalent NVQ Level 3. Previous experience in rail or automotive industry Internal & External contacts and interfaces of the role: - All internal functions/departments and businesses at LH and sister companies Who are we?
