Annualised hours contract - 400 hours (including paid annual leave entitlement)
Hourly rate: £12.80 – £14.17
Required Start: Immediate availability.
We have an exciting opportunity for a qualified cycling instructor (with a 1st4sport Level 2 Award) to join our expanding and hugely successful Cycle Training Team as a Lead Instructor.
Our team of qualified instructors deliver cycle training programmes across the borough in a fun and inspiring way. Our instructors help encourage good cycling practice and cycle skills in both children and adults, giving them the confidence to ride individually or in a group and gain an understanding of how to ride safely on today’s roads.
As Lead Cycling Instructor, you will be responsible for delivering Bikeability training courses. As well as the practical delivery of courses, you will be responsible for confirming attendee numbers, acting as the key contact for schools on training days, the delivery and management of kit, organising the training groups, and holding a post-training debrief. You will also have some additional administrative duties to complete at the start and end of each course such as recording trainee outcomes and monitoring delivery quality as required.
The work you do will be highly valued and will provide you with opportunities, not only to be involved in the development of Bikeability across Solihull, but also for further training to support your professional development as well as receiving Cycle Maintenance, First Aid, and Safeguarding Training.
Successful candidates will be providing training sessions predominately during the school day but will be required occasionally to support some courses during the school holidays. You must be physically able to walk and cycle distances of up to two miles on a frequent basis.
Whilst the post is offered on an annualised hours contract basis, we require commitment to undertake full week bookings. You would not be required to work every week.
Working for Solihull means that we can also offer employees a great working environment, together with a range of flexible working options, an extensive wellbeing offer, as well as attractive staff benefits including staff discounts and access to the Local Government pension scheme.
