Stores Warehouse Assistant | Production
Our client is a market leader in the development and supply of advanced technology electronic point of sale products into the world's food processing industries and major retailers.
They produce digital equipment for a wide range of food processing environments; from poultry to fish, vegetables, dairy, bakeries and ready meals, including many different classifications of world industry from leading industrial corporations to small local retail supply outlets as well as Point of Sale products into the major multiple retailers.
They are now seeking a Stores Warehouse Assistant to join their team where you will be responsible for controlling the flow of stock through the Stores environment safely and efficiently, ensuring all goods and materials are received and shipped correctly, completing kits correctly for production.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Process and receipt incoming materials, checking quantity and type of goods received
2. Record any damaged, missing or faulty goods utilising the correct processes
3. Pick materials for Production Orders expeditiously and accurately, utilising handhelds
4. Sort, organise and label all inventory correctly, ensuring MS Nav is updated with all actions
5. Move goods to the correct area in the warehouse, either manually or using the correct mechanical handling equipment in a safe manner
6. Understand and action work instructions provided by Stores Team Leaders
7. Store and re-stack goods safely, packing away debris to ensure space maximisation
8. Pick, package and prepare spares orders for dispatch; labelling correctly
9. Update the wider organisation when inaccuracies are found and take responsibility to correct
10. Load and unload inventory from delivery vans and move to correct location
11. Prepare crates for finished goods ready for dispatch
12. Utilise MS Nav, handheld scanners and other technology to record goods movement
13. Ensure full compliance with all H&S procedures, ensuring use of correct safety gear at all times
14. Operate heavy machinery such as forklifts to move or store inventory
15. Maintain a flexible and positive approach with an ability to multitask within the team
16. Pay attention to detail around stock and maintain an organised manner in all actions
17. Participate in the creation and action of improvement activities
18. Provide support for all staff in keeping with the business's values, policies and procedures
19. Complete all documents required by the company policies and procedures
Desired Skills and Experience:
1. Experience of operating heavy machinery or forklifts to move goods.
2. Experience of working in a stock warehouse environment
3. Loading and unloading stock and preparing for dispatch
