LLP Compensation Accountant
The LLP Compensation Accountant will fully support the Compensation Accounting Manager to cover all aspects of Compensation Accounting and related reporting primarily for the BGC and Cantor LLP operations in the UK.
The successful candidate shall make an important contribution to the continued development of the Compensation Accounting team whilst constantly raising the bar in terms of quality and control.
Key Responsibilities:
* To ensure the integrity of Comp related P&L and Balance Sheet on a timely basis through monthly postings to the GL followed by analytical review and reconciliations.
* Maintain LLP member capital accounts and all reporting thereof including the development and reporting of members capital in the Oracle Partnership portal.
* Main liaison with external bank dealing with the LLP and related member capital loans.
* Monitor and ensure compliance of ‘Salaried Member rules’.
* Main Finance liaison for PWC for LLP member return preparation.
* Record keeping of all movements in the LLP membership together with maintaining a database of LLP deed of adherences.
* Work closely with Partnership Tax team to reconcile and report on a timely basis all profit allocations and tax liabilities.
* Undertake all share-based accounting relating to the LLP structure including sale of equity.
* Work closely with relevant stakeholders, namely HR, Business Managers, Partnership Tax and Financial Reporting to ensure all deliverables and reporting requirements are completed on a timely basis.
Key Requirements:
The successful candidate should either be a part qualified accountant or qualified by experience preferably within the UK financial services industry and should be able to demonstrate:
* Excellent understanding of double-entry bookkeeping.
* A good understanding of UK personal tax together with reporting requirements.
* A strong academic background and good career progression to date.
* Previous Compensation and Payroll Accounting experience especially within Limited Liability Partnership would be advantageous.
* A good understanding of Equity Compensation would be preferable.
* A control mentality coupled with excellent accounting, analytical and reporting skills.
* Ability to meet deadlines, organise and prioritise.
* Good written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact with stakeholders throughout the Group with view to developing and maintaining strong relationships.
* Possess a pro-active attitude with an ability to take responsibility.
* Strong attention to detail.
* Supervisory skills would be advantageous.
Systems used:
* Strong MS Excel skills (including vlookups, pivot tables, sumifs and charts).
* Prior experience with Essbase and Oracle General Ledger preferable.
* Other Microsoft Office applications.
