Business Development ManagerThis exciting permanent role is for a Business Development Manager to join a blue-chip biotechnology company with state of the art R&D and manufacturing facilities.

As the Business Development Manager you will have a hunter mentality being responsible for generating sales and key business relationships across the Biotechnology sector aligned with the company growth plans. You will proactive to develop strong, long term relationships and be able to successfully operate across early development for products or drugs or diagnostics within antibody research.
The role can be home based but will require visits to the office for training, sales meetings and project updates, located in the UK as long as you have good access to main transport links such as airports and rail network.
Responsibilities
Duties as the Business Development Manager will be varied however the key duties and responsibilities are as follows:You will focus both on new business development by generating and qualifying sales lead / enquiries while supporting and growing existing relationships to increase sales across a portfolio of selected customers.You will work closely with the commercial team providing market knowledge, influences and work with company CRM (salesforce), to ensure client information is currentYou will work closely with colleagues in quality, development and manufacturing functions to support new client programmes are delivered on time and budget.Following the company sales process to create proposals, meet customers and engage in promoting and developing customer driven solutions.Actively contribute to the commercial strategy and delivery inputting to CEO and stakeholders
QualificationsEducated to degree level, ideally in the life sciences, and with at least three years direct sales and business development experience within life science sector.Direct experience of selling of antibody services or with biological molecule development servicesMust have operated in a customer facing role interacting in the Pharmaceutical / biotechnology sectorStrong commercial background with prior experience of generating costing proposals, implementing KPIs and sales plans and working to sales related targets.
