Job overview
We are looking for an exceptional, highly motivated, innovative individual to join our team of ANNPs at our Level 2 LNU.
The successful candidate would use highly specialised clinical and theoretical knowledge to undertake a comprehensive health history and examination of any neonate in order to diagnose and treat. Work in partnership with the medical team to deliver a holistic approach to the care of neonates throughout the patient pathway from admission to discharge. Use specialised clinical and theoretical knowledge to regularly weigh up differential diagnosis and the potential range of treatment options available, ensuring that the care provided to all neonates is safe and effective.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will join a team of West Midlands deanery senior and junior specialty trainees and Advanced Neonatal Nurse Practitioners to provide cover on Tier 1 rota. The post holder will have an overall responsibility for the assessment of care needs and the delivery of optimal care at a level equivalent to that of a junior grade doctor.
There is a full shift system in operation. The post holder will form part of this rota working shifts as designated on our neonatal unit and will be accountable for improving and complying with infection control practices.

Qualifications
* Degree/Masters in Nursing studies /Neonatal studies or equivalent
* A19 or equivalent
* 997/998 or equivalent
* NLS provider course certification
* Specialist neonatal training to master's level or equivalent experience
* NLS instructor
Experience
* Evidence of service development or change management
Knowledge
* Expert knowledge of Neonatal care
* Knowledge of clinical governance and a commitment to clinical supervision and reflective practice
* Awareness of research methodologies
* Evidence of recent teaching ability
* Awareness of current issues within Neonatal care
Skills
* Able to prioritise workload
* Analyses problems and implements appropriate solutions
* Experience in management of neonatal emergencies, resuscitation, stabilisation and common conditions
* Experience in clinical procedures and techniques with the ability to supervise and support colleagues
* Good understanding of IT systems
