Job summary
An exciting opportunity has risen to be part of our dynamic and busy IT Department in the role of Lead End User Computing Officer. Your role will be to provide day to day management of an existing IT support team to ensure smooth running of IT End user computing technology.
You will need to manage expectations and balance, organise and prioritise workload with minimum supervision and maintain a secure customer focused support service.
Applicants must have relevant experience of working in an ICT environment within an IT desktop support role. Knowledge and experience of supporting existing NHS information systems on a range of platforms will be an advantage.
Main duties of the job
You will supervise a team of 5 End user computing engineers and be supported by the EUC manager. The role covers a wide variety of technology. Experience of supporting and maintaining Windows 10 devices in an enterprise setting is desirable along with a working knowledge of MDM products.
You will be responsible for ensuring the security and integrity of end user devices at scale. The Trust currently hosts 10,000 Devices that your area is responsible for. This is made up of 3500 desktop/VDI devices and 6500 laptops.

Job responsibilities
Administrative Responsibilities
Ensures that records relating to the Technology Infrastructure, associated systems and devices are maintained and updated in a timely manner.
Maintains Information asset registers.
Responsibility for Information & Information Systems
Operational lead for the proactive management of the end user computing Infrastructures and processes, ensuring that they are proactively monitored, performance is maximised and end users receive the service expected.
Works with the End User Computing Manager to ensure that end user computing environments have monitoring processes in place to ensure the integrity of the environments and to maximise performance for end users.
Ensures that effective Incident and problem management control processes are in place and are actively managed in accordance with SLAs, utilising escalation processes both internal and external when required.
Follows the change control process for all changes to the end user computing estate, that incorporate standard, normal and emergency changes, including supplier led changes and system upgrades.
Ensures that Technical Instructions (TIS) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) are in place for the management and maintenance of the Trusts end user computing estate.
Works with the End User Computing Manager on the development of actions plans to improve the level of compliance with governance standards, particularly controls assurance and audit reports.
Provides effective support and maintenance for the technologies, systems and services within the technology section.
Updates service desk software for calls that have been assigned to post holder and monitors calls assigned to the technology team to ensure calls are resolved with agreed timescales and standards.
Provides specialist advice on products within the technology area to users, as well as to colleagues within the Information Department.
Assists Information senior managers to put measures in place to ensure continuing improvement in business continuity and data quality.
Promotes the best use of the Trusts end user computing environments and works closely with colleagues across the department and wider Trust to improve end user experience and system usage.
Maintains and administers technology systems such as Active Directory, SSCM, MDM, MFD/Papercut, Windows 10, teams, VPN etc

1. Educated to Degree standard or equivalent in a relevant subject or with equivalent experiential learning in the field of ICT Technical Design and Support
2. Achieve End User Computing related certification within an agreed timescale
