Key Details
Salary: £6.40p/h increasing to National Minimum Wage after 12 months
Working hours: Monday - Friday (shifts TBC) 34 hours per week
Location: Hob Moor Road, Birmingham, B25 8TN
Apprenticeship Details: 16 months expected duration to complete, working towards your Teaching Assistant Level 3 Apprenticeship. (All learning is delivered online/ remote).
Training Provider: LMP Education (rated 1st best UK training provider)
We are looking for a Teaching Assistant Apprentice to join our friendly and supportive team at Oasis Academy Hobmoor. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a primary school setting while working towards a Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification.
As an apprentice, you will work alongside experienced teachers and support staff to help create a positive and engaging learning environment for our pupils with special educational needs. You will receive on-the-job training and dedicated mentoring to develop the skills and knowledge needed for a successful career in education. The role of a teaching assistant is to provide support for pupils, teachers and other staff in order to:
1. Raise standards of achievement for all pupils
2. Encourage pupils to become more independent learners
3. Provide support for their emotional, social, and physical welfare
4. Support the inclusion of pupils in all aspects of school life
5. Work under the direction of the line manager, class teachers, and other staff to support the learning of whole classes, selected groups or individuals as instructed
6. Study relevant qualifications while you earn
Desired skills & Personal qualities:
* GCSEs at grades C/4 or above (or equivalent) in Maths and English
* A positive approach to gaining further qualifications
* A team player
* Reliable, committed, and punctual
Desired qualifications:
* DBS must be completed if successful in the role
