We currently have a vacancy for a Band 3 Healthcare Assistant to work as part of the team at Beech Step-Down, based at the Lightwood site.

Beech is a 10-bedded mixed gender environment which supports individuals who have experienced a mental health crisis that has resulted in a hospital admission, however are well enough to be discharged from hospital but due to their social circumstances do not have a suitable discharge destination.
We offer a 24-hour service and expect a high degree of flexibility within our staff team, with shifts covering mornings (Early Shift 07:00 15:00), afternoons (Late Shift 13:30 22:00) and Night shifts (21:30 08:00).
We are a small team and expect a high level of ingenuity within our Healthcare Assistants in supporting service users within a homely setting, as well as working well as part of the team. We are activity-focussed so to prevent boredom and develop the skills of those under our care.
It is also expected for the staff team to be supporting our service users by identifying their needs and risks in a collaborative manner so to support them in a safe and supportive manner.
Main duties of the job
In applying for this role you will need to be able to demonstrate the following:
1. Completed the Cavendish Care Certificate.
2. Achieved a GCSE grade 4 (formally grade C) or above in Maths and English, this can include Functional skills Level 2 or above.
3. Can demonstrate two years experience of working as a Health Care Support Worker in mental health.

3. Training and Supervision

Job description review
This is not an exhaustive list of duties and responsibilities and in discussion with the manager the postholder may be required to undertake other duties which fall within the Banding of the post.
