About the Role:
The Energy Division at ARM is currently seeking a Principal EC&I Design Engineer to join a Leading Nuclear Defence Client
Key responsibilities include:
7. Lead and manage the EC&I engineering work packages agreeing project related objectives, managing overall designer performance, and making appropriate technical management responses.
8. Provide technical design guidance and review of EC&I system designs incorporating Design Basis Events and Safety Functional requirements as defined in the Safety Case.
9. Ensure that the design documentation covers the scope of operations required by the Project Manager and is produced to agreed standards, schedule and budget.
10. Plan for effective project implementation, identifying key factors and leading the project's technical planning process.
11. Ensuring effective Quality Management Arrangements, operate and deliver through compliance with Babcock's Business Management System and Technical Manual.
12. Ensure that the processes and activities being managed are appropriately documented with appropriate records maintained and configuration and quality controls applied.
13. Support the SDDP Design Manager implementing the project approach to Health, Safety and Environmental issues as applicable to design.
What you need to succeed:
14. Design and substantiation of EC&I engineering solutions to relevant codes for satisfying Nuclear Safety Functions
15. Knowledge of process design of large scale industrial plant
16. The post holder must be able to demonstrate relevant knowledge and skills required in the technical management of complex design
17. Development throughout the design lifecycle.
18. Provide expert advice to the sub-contracted design houses to enable them to develop the design.
19. Sound understanding of engineering design and safety practice as relevant to discipline, post and project requirements.
20. The post holder must be able to demonstrate relevant knowledge and skills required in the technical management of complex design development throughout the design lifecycle.
21. Provide expert advice to the sub-contracted design houses to enable them to develop the design.
22. Sound understanding of engineering design and safety practice as relevant to discipline, post, and project requirements.
23. Sound project specification, planning, project management, and budgeting experience.
24. Sound understanding of Company and departmental procedures relating to Design, Health & Safety, and Quality requirements, and ability to manage projects following these procedures.
25. Working knowledge of relevant engineering office computer applications.
26. Experience of the design support to construction, operation, and refit/repair of conventional and nuclear submarines and/or facilities.
