Due to significant growth at Wood Transmission & Distribution Ltd UK, we are looking for Overhead Lines (OHL) Engineering Managers to join our team. As an Engineering Manager, you will play a crucial role in ensuring compliance and bolstering our technical credibility with new and existing clients. Your responsibilities will include leading engineering delivery across multiple projects, ensuring timely preparation of quality deliverables within the allocated program and budget. At Wood, we support hybrid working, offering a blend of office and remote work. The role involves travel as needed and can be based at any of our UK offices, with a preference for Glasgow or Horsham.
As a leading provider of engineering and construction services to the UK transmission and distribution sector, we are at the forefront of net zero 2050 with a secured workstream for years to come. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to support our growing workload and contribute to the increased network capacity required to deliver the UK government's pathway to 2030 and the transition to net zero. Our team provides HV OHL design supporting construction, procurement, and consultancy on a variety of projects within the sector. We are working on building global delivery centres to support the team growth. Reporting to a Senior Engineering Manager, you will work alongside another engineering manager, making sure we are meeting our schedule and will communicate upwards any changes that are impacting the schedule, cost, or quality of the output.
As an established engineering manager with experience of managing small teams and expertise in OHL Design, you will make an impact from day one taking ownership of the team’s delivery in this technical lead role. Not only will you provide day to day leadership to ensure deadlines are met but also ensure a robust design which meets stakeholder needs through constructability reviews, safety by design approach and value engineering assessments. In addition, you will be part of a global team and will benefit from career development opportunities that working for a large organisation can readily offer. This opportunity will allow you to enhance your project management skillset, progress to Senior Engineering Manager and then Head of Engineering level or move to a Head of Design discipline route if your preference is a more technical pathway.
Join a culture of innovation, pushing the boundaries of what is possible to seek the best solutions for our clients.
