You will be intrinsic to the gastroenterology team by supporting the IBD infusion clinic and helpline. You will be involved in the IBD multi-disciplinary team meetings and be supported to develop skills in patient consultation. You will gain experience in governance activities such as audit and service development. Opportunities will be provided to develop management and leadership skills.
You will be involved in the provision and development of medicines management services, and will check patients' own medicines, take drug histories, initiate further supplies, counsel patients on their medicines and help to co-ordinate discharge. You will also work in our busy dispensaries. You will label, dispense, and check prescriptions for in-patients, TTOs, and out-patients. If not already achieved, a comprehensive in-house training will be provided including working towards achieving an accreditation as an ACPT.
