Our projects range in value from £5k to £15m, taking the role of Principal Contractor and Principal Designer on various schemes, and supporting our valued Tier 1 contractor clients in a subcontractor and off-site manufacturing capacity.
Role Purpose
We are hiring for this opportunity due to continued growth. As our business expands, the demand for our expertise grows, and we are in need of a skilled control panel designer to join us on a permanent and full-time basis.
In this role, your designs will play a pivotal role in ensuring the success and efficiency of our projects. The primary objective is to collaboratively provide accurate and consistent designs that are delivered within budgets and to agreed timescales.
The Role
* Develop and execute electrical control panel designs, schematics, and general arrangements from concept through completion, ensuring adherence to specifications, standards, and budgets.
* Maintain project documentation, track budgets and actuals, monitor progress, and proactively raise any issues that may impact scope, schedule, or budget.
* Communicate and collaborate effectively with stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle - clients, project managers, contractors, inspectors, etc.
* Lead technical design calculations to maintain integrity and safety of all components. Coordinate closely with suppliers and project teams.
* Collaborate and review designs from other disciplines. Contribute ideas to enhance quality, safety, and sustainability.
* Liaise frequently with project managers and clients to provide progress updates, discuss risks, and ensure strong working relationships.
Minimum Requirements
* Experience working in a control panel manufacturing/design position.
* Experience within the water industry.
* Problem solver and strong communication skills.
* Organised and enthusiastic.
* Experience with control systems, electrical drawing software, LV switchgear, PLCs, instrumentation.
* Willingness to make decisions.
