Step into Teaching have partnered with a lovely primary school in Watford, who are seeking Learning Support Assistants to join their amazing pupil support team. The school is very warm, welcoming and friendly in addition to providing a safe, inclusive environment for all students to feel valued and make outstanding progress in their learning.
Within this role, the HLTA will primarily serve as essential support, providing a range of cover that spans classroom lessons, training sessions, and external meetings under the guidance of the outstanding SLT.
You will support pupils with very complex neurodiverse needs, including Autism (ASC) and/or Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs to enable all pupils to gain positive learning and social outcomes.

The Learning Support Assistant must:
* Relevant Higher Level Teaching Assistant qualification (or willingness to work towards)
* Experience of managing neurodiverse young people, including those with ASC and/or SEMH, with an understanding of the implications for behaviour and communication.
* Be passionate about supporting children with their learning
* Be able to keep children engaged and motivated
* Be enthusiastic, friendly and approachable
* Have a commitment to inclusion and equal opportunities
* Be resilient, fast thinking and adaptable to different environments.
* Be able to work effectively in a team
