Main duties of the job
The Gastroenterology Registrar is responsible for delivering high-quality patient care within the Gastroenterology and General Medicine departments. This role includes inpatient and outpatient management of gastrointestinal (GI) and liver diseases, performing endoscopic procedures, participating in the on-call rota, and supporting junior doctors and medical students in training.

Job responsibilities
We are seeking a Locum Registrar (ST3 - ST8) to join our department at NHS TRUST. This is a fantastic opportunity for experienced clinicians to contribute to a highly regarded NHS Trust while gaining valuable experience in a dynamic healthcare setting.
As a Locum Registrar, you will provide high-quality clinical care under the supervision of consultants and senior medical staff, working across various areas within your assigned specialty. You will be involved in patient assessments, management, and treatment plans, and you may be required to assist with surgical procedures, outpatient clinics, or on-call responsibilities depending on the specialty.
* Provide excellent patient care within the [Specialty] department.
* Conduct assessments, investigations, and treatment planning for both emergency and routine cases.
* Manage inpatient care, attend ward rounds, and assist in outpatient clinics.
* Work with the multidisciplinary team to ensure safe and efficient patient care.
* Respond to emergencies and urgent referrals in a timely and professional manner.
* Comply with NHS guidelines and protocols, ensuring patient safety and high clinical standards.
* Participate in the on-call rota (if applicable) as per department requirements.
* Ensure accurate and thorough documentation of patient records.
Person Specification
Qualifications
* Right to work in the UK.
* Six months NHS Experience paid UK experience as a doctor within the last 2 years.
* GMC Full licence to practice.
* Evidence of postgraduate qualifications (e.g., MD, MSc, PhD).
* Gastroenterology Experience.
* Satisfactory completion of previous posts providing professional training in Gastroenterology.
