We are looking for the right candidate to join as Medical Receptionist in our team.
We are flexible in offering full time or 2 x part time positions, depending on the needs of the practice and candidates availability.
Main duties of the job
* Greet patients and visitors to the practice.
* Answer incoming telephone calls, ensuring calls are documented (where required) and redirected accordingly.
* Book, amend and cancel patient appointments in line with practice appointments procedures ensuring optimum efficiency of the appointment system.
* Deal with patient queries which may include calling hospital for copy of letters, lab reports or related.
* Ensure all tasks sent by GPs and admin staff are dealt with on a timely basis.
* Ensure clinical rooms, reception and waiting areas are kept neat and tidy and also equipped with hand towels.
* Keep up to date with mandatory trainings.
* Re-stock information leaflets or any other relevant information as appropriate.
* Check emails on a daily basis. Also regularly check practice general emails.
* Work safely at all times in accordance with GDPR Legislative requirements and Practice Policy and Procedures.

We are using EMIS Web and DOCMAN as our clinical system along with Ask My GP to provide a digital platform for our patients.
Person Specification
Qualifications
* GCSE grade A to C in English and Maths
* Qualified to NVQ level 2 in Health and Social Care
Experience
* Experience of working within the same role, preferably in Health Care services
* Experience of customer service
* Experience of working in a GP practice
