Family Lawyer – Solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive
Department Overview:
The role is in the Family department with the emphasis on negotiating financial settlements and private law children work. The majority of the clients will be private paying, but experience with publicly funded work will be of benefit.
Job Overview:
The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years PQE in the relevant areas of Family Law. We will consider all levels of qualification and experience, but the successful candidate will need to be competent to run their own files. Applications from senior candidates are also welcomed and salaried partnerships may be available.
The position will be based at our Sleaford office.
You will be motivated by a desire to specialise in the financial aspects of divorce, achieving the best possible financial results for your clients and to seek resolution of disputes surrounding the children of separated couples. You will be driven and ambitious and a very competitive salary and benefits will be available for the right candidate. There will be opportunities for further advancement within the firm if desired.
To be successful in these roles, you will:
1. Present a professional image to clients and collaborators.

3. Be hard-working, highly organised, and able to work to tight deadlines.
4. Hold appropriate accreditation from the Law Society and/or Resolution or be willing to work towards achieving them.
The work will be varied and will include, but is not limited to, the following:
1. Advising clients in areas of divorce and finances.
2. Dealing with financial remedy cases, including high net worth clients.
3. Drafting Separation, Pre-nuptial, and Co-habitation agreements.
4. Dealing with Private Law Children cases.
5. Representing clients at Court.
6. Managing files using the Proclaim Case Management System (training will be provided).
Experience Required:
1. Experience within a Family Law Department.
2. IT skills, including Word, Outlook and Excel.
3. Outstanding communication skills.
4. High standard of organisational skills required for file management and diary management.
5. Ability to use initiative.
6. A friendly, positive and proactive approach.
7. A full UK driving licence.
8. Ability to manage/supervise junior team members.
9. A knowledge of Proclaim Case Management System.
