What skills and experience we're looking for
The Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead works with Haybrook College to deliveralternative provision for pupils within the borough that have been excluded from mainstream education for a variety of reasons but primarily linked to their SEND needs. These needs range from Social, Emotional, Mental Health (SEMH) difficulties, Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD), or Specific Learning Difficulties (SLD), some of whom have Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCP’s).
We are looking for a talented, caring and empathetic primary teacher with SEND experience, to support the development of a new primary provision for pupils who have been excluded from mainstreams schools. The successful applicant would work alongside our amazing staff to take the provision forward on an exciting and transformational journey being part of a fantastic future success story.
We are looking for a special kind of qualified and experienced primary teacher, who is empathetic, kind, motivated and passionate, and committed to supporting children and young people with special education needs to reach their full potential.
The successful candidates will be passionate about special education and committed to creating a positive and engaging learning environment where all pupils can achieve and fulfil their potential. Interest is welcomed from candidates with a either a background in SEND or those from a mainstream primary background passionate about for working with pupils with special educational needs.
You should be self-motivated with a creative approach to curriculum delivery and have the skills to continuously improve the learning experience for their pupils. You should have experience of working with young people with SEMH and complex needs and understand what approaches work well and how to build positive relationships are key.

The provision has recently moved to new premises based at Eton Wick Primary school and is an excellent opportunity for you to join our established team of primary lead teacher and support staff. As primary teacher you would be responsible for planning and delivering a range of subjects across the key stages in line with the provision’s curriculum maps.
You will be able to demonstrate a hands on approach to teaching and learning adapting the curriculum to meet the individual needs of our pupils. You will:
• Teaching a varied range of subjects
• Preparing, planning and assessing teaching sessions whilst maintaining an awareness of curriculum developments
• Writing and implement individual education plans, making assessments of educational attainment, setting challenging yet achievable targets
• Build relationships with all young people, which will encourage their interest and participation in their education
• Creating an environment which is stimulating and purposeful for all pupils to promote teaching and learning outside the formal classroom settings
